It has been a while I wanted to start a blog. This for different reasons, one is that I like to write and two that I like to communicate with others. The Internet offers me the possibility to achieve these two objectives, hence my decision to start expressing myself on line. Mind you, the decision to blog was the easy part! I still needed to decide what to blog abou, where and how to do it. When I sat down to try and figure this out, things got complicated. At first I thought about wh
at subject would people following Narcis' blog would like to hear about and I spent at least two hours coming up with all sorts of ideas, some good, some bad, some crazy and some ridiculous. I tried to find common denominators that would peak interest and came to the realization that the subjects, which easiest come to mind, are often over-talked about. Take sex, for example. I could spend hours and hours speaking about it but I doubt whatever I would say has not yet been talked about at least ten times over. How about food? Well, yes, but really...what do I know about food? Friendships? Relationships? I'm not a psychologist. Football? Maybe. The more I thought, the more frustrated I got. Until a friend who just came back from the South Pacific couldn't stop bragging about the beach he was on at a lousy party I attended. "Beach here, beach there, sun, sand, ocean, pretty girls"...you know...the typical stories one hears at a boring party on a Saturday night. Suddenly, however, I noticed other people at the party became engaged in the conversation and started upstaging the poor guy. Someone got really into it and everyone had an opinion about a beach, beaches and everything thereto related. One person who was at the party even went all out to let everyone know he owns a private beach. Then it dawned on me that this was the perfect subject to blog about, I know a lot about beaches from my traveling around the world and I always met many different characters on my way to the beach who captivated my attention for one reason or the other. The result was always witty humor and that's something I can certainly talk about! Once decided it was time to determine where I would blog and I tried in different places with not much success. Again, at a party someone was talking about beaches and crazy contests and introduced me to bookbeach, a forum that is perfect for my blogging plans. So bookbeach it is for now, look for Narcis' blogs and comment are welcome!
